Powerful NLP Business Development Tools For Increased Success

More and more people are discovering that through NLP Business can reach new heights and have achieve more than was thought possible.

Have you considered that your business doesn't just depend on your people. It is your people. You and the rest of the people in your business are have created your success so far and, in the future, it is you and your people who will ensure sustained success and continued growth. In fact, the greatest business limitations are to be found not in the things you want to do and can't, but in the things you've never considered doing.

  • What if you could harness incredible creativity, vision and unlock the potential of everyone person in your organisation?
  • What if you could develop people with the latest leadership, communication and cutting edge change processes?
  • What if you could create a genuine unified purpose with unparalleled motivation and commitment to achieving?

NLP could be compared to electricity. When the technology for electricity was created people didn't know about the enormous scope and application it would have. We now have laptops, mobile phones, heating, light, sound systems, medical advances that couldn't even be considered before and a whole variety of educational, entertainment, business and personal benefits. Yet, all of these are applications of electricity.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) can be described as a set of skills, techniques and empowering principles, an attitude, which combine to offer you the potential for modeling human excellence in every area of life. It has discovered how people think, how people learn, how high achievers do things excellently and how to replicate their success! Like electricity it can be applied in a vast number of ways and more and more people are discovering the benefits of using NLP to enhance their business.

But, we don't believe that people should train in NLP just to improve communication skills, confidence or motivation.

We don't believe that people should train in NLP just because they want better abilities to coach, influence and persuade. We don't believe that people should train in NLP just to overcome blocks or barriers and or to solve the day to day problems in their business.

We believe that people should train in Business NLP because they truly want to BE THE BEST and because they won't settle for anything less.

Neuro linguistic programming training can provide a whole array of new insights and tools to address real issues and needs. We asked people who had trained in both advanced nlp and basic nlp how they had applied it in business.

What is the Meta Model?

Simply, the Meta Model is a group of Precision questions that can be used to elicit particular information that is specific. It is a set of linguistic patterns for uncovering the "deep structure" (or hidden meanings) that contained within someone's "surface structure" sentences. This was the first model created in NLP and is a powerful nlp tool for discovering what someone really means and a great antidote to ambiguous or vague communication.

What is a Pattern interrupt?

Sometimes when a person is angry, shutting down, anxious or showing other un-resourceful behaviours, the only way to get them to stop is to suddenly do something totally unexpected or drastic. This is called a pattern interupt (or break state).

Using the distraction stops a person in their tracks and breaks the pattern they are entrenched in. Some pattern interrupts / break states you could try are: Coughing, sneezing, dropping something, waving your arms or suddenly moving, exclaiming in a loud voice, drawing attention to something else - can you smell chicken? Having broken the state they were in, you can now assist them to get into a new state that is more resourceful for them. Usually the sooner you do this the more effective your break state will be.

What is Sensory acuity and how does it make a difference?

Thinking and internal processing are closely related to physiology. People's thought processes change their physiological state. Sufficient sensory acuity will helps us fine-tune our communication by recognising every response a person has.

What are Eye accessing cues?

When people access different representational systems, their eyes move in certain ways. Calibration to the person is essential in order to tell the difference between an "accessing cue" and a non-accessing movement. We use accessing cues to help discover how a person is representing the world and their strategy for how they do what they do.

How can I set goals and use Well formed outcomes with my staff?

Well formed outcomes are goals, objectives or targets which have been refined so that they fulfill several criteria. When our wants, dreams or wishes are defined using this process they become more believable and realisable.

This is why they are then described as being `well-formed' outcomes - they have fulfilled certain 'well-formed-ness conditions'.  Going through this process creates a detailed picture and representation in a person's mind - an important step in creating a belief in their objective and it ensures you focus on what you DO want rather than on what you do NOT want. Your attention is on what to do and how to do it rather than on problems, excuses, alibis, and explanations. Working this staff this can be a fantastic tool for appraisals and yearly reviews of progress and can provide opportunities for setting checkpoint actions to be carried out along the way.

How can I use Voice Tonality?

Studies have found that the way you say something accounts for 38% of a communication and varying your voice tone, especially at the end of a sentence, can dramatically affect how you communicate with your listener.

If you raise your inflection at the end of a sentence, it is usually perceived as a question?
When you keep your voice level, it is usually perceived as a statement.

If you inflect your voice tone down at the end of a sentence it is usually perceived as a command.

How can I use Chunk Thinking (also called chunking)?

Chunk thinking is a principle that applies to the effective communication of information between people. Alfred Korzybski suggested (Science and Sanity 1933) that it was our ability to look at "structure, relations and ultimately multi-dimensional order" that helped keep us sane.

It is also the basis of how we can appreciate and understand a persons 'map of the world'. Grouping information by class and sub-class is especially useful when combined with the principles of logical typing order.

The idea of organising information into distinct chunks or sets of data was put forward in the 1950s by Harvard psychologist George A. Miller who studied short term memory. He found people could only be reliably expected to remember "seven, plus or minus two" numbers a few minutes after having been told these numbers once. Going beyond numbers, for example, most of us can remember about seven recently learned chunks of similarly classified data.

Chunking develops meaning and thereby facilitates memory and is also a way to identify values, to create metaphors, of structuring information for learning and is the basis for negotiation and agreement.

What are the useful beliefs in NLP that will make a difference to what I do?

The Presuppositions of NLP are a set of working principles (or useful beliefs) that set a frame. Here are a couple of examples that are particularly relevant to business:

  1. The meaning of the communication is not simply what you intend, but also the response you get. This response may be different to the one you wanted. There are no failures in communication, only responses and feedback. If you are not getting the result you want, change what you are doing. Take responsibility for the communication.

  2. There is no failure, only feedback. Results are guaranteed. Our specific thoughts, actions, and feelings consistently produce specific results. We may be happy or unhappy with these results, but if we repeat the same thoughts, actions, and feelings, we'll get the same results. The process works perfectly. If we want to change our results, then we need to change the thoughts, actions, and feelings that go into producing them. If you want to understand, act - the learning is in the doing.
