NLP LanguageAs we take our company round the world a very common question that arises is does NLP work with different languages? Although much of the work on NLP has been done in English the principles can be applied universally. Today I am going to go through an introduction to NLP language patterns and the kind of things that can be achieved with a more developed understanding.

NLP language patterns when used correctly are powerful tools of persuasion. The principle is simple. Construct sentence that have commands hidden within them.

For example, when trying to build rapport use phrases such as “you, like me, believe honesty is really important”. On the surface this sentence is saying that you are two similar people but also, underneath you have embedded the instruction “you like me”. This can be reinforced with supporting gestures, hand signals that refer to the person on the “you” and refer to yourself on the “me”.

The gestures are important as non verbal communication is rarely questioned. The person you are talking to will hear the precise meaning of the sentence but with the non verbal reinforcement the brain will here the command “you like me”, and this will be accepted as fact. Does NLP work with different languages? This specific example can be adapted to most European languages, however, the principles are universal.

Are there more friendly NLP languages? That is, are there languages better suited to NLP? In our experience, no. Every language we encounter, including English, has limitations when it comes to embedded commands, however, every language also has enormous flexibility, and it is really down to the skill of the NLP practitioner when it comes to what can be achieved. The fact is that this technique is a way of talking directly to the subconscious of your companion and the results can be astounding.

The final aspect of NLP language patterns that we are to introduce you to today is frame control. Does NLP work with different languages? This technique undoubtedly will. This week go away and start constructing your sentences around the reality that you want to be believe. Car salesman talk as if it is a fact that you will be buying a car today.

There is no doubt in the way they talk, and this reduces the doubt in the clients mind. If you want people to believe you are a natural leader then tell stories that promote this as the absolute truth. This brings us to a central point of NLP; your belief controls your reality, and this is a principle that is truly universal.
